This information was last checked on 28th January, 2022

This document is designed for those travellers who have received two vaccination doses more than 14 days prior to embarking on their flight to the Maldives.

COVID-19 vaccination is deemed complete if 14 days have passed since the completion of prescribed doses of COVID-19 vaccine approved by Maldives Food and Drug Authority or WHO.

For the latest complete requirements, it is essential that you visit: https://www.tourism.gov.mv/covid19

Prior to Boarding your Flight to the Maldives:

1. All travellers should hold a valid negative PCR test result with a sample taken at most 96 hours prior to the first port of embarkation, en-route to the Maldives (children below the age of 1 (one) year are exempted).

2. All arriving passengers via airports and seaports are required to complete a Traveller Health Declaration form within 48 hours prior to departure. This form can be submitted electronically via https://imuga.immigration.gov.mv/ethd

The Traveller Health Declaration collects your contact details in the Maldives, flight details, COVID-19 vaccination information, quarantine requirements and your health status.

3. Check the requirements of the airline(s) you are travelling with, including their COVID testing demands, face covering instructions etc.

4. Check the requirements for any countries you are transiting to and from the Maldives.

5. Check the requirements for entering the country you are travelling to after leaving the Maldives.

Upon Arrival into the Maldives you will need to present:

1. Negative COVID-19 PCR report (written in English) taken within 96 hours of your scheduled embarkation (all travellers excluding children below 1 year).

2. All tourists will be granted 30 days free visa on arrival. This visa can be extended for any long-stay holiday makers. For the on-arrival visa, you must provide a confirmed hotel booking, sufficient funds for the intended period of stay, confirmed onward / return ticket.

You should also bring:

1. Original vaccination certificate (together with a certified copy of English language translation if the certificate is not in English or if relevant data are not indicated in English).

2. A printed / digital copy of your Traveller Health Declaration form.

At Malé Airport (MLE):

1. All visitors must keep a distance of at least 1 metre (3 feet) between one another at all times whilst within the airport.

2. You must wear your mask as you disembark the aircraft.

3. As you enter the arrival terminal you will be guided past thermal screening cameras.

4. The Government of Maldives will be carrying out random COVID testing on arrivals as part of their health surveillance measures. The cost for these voluntary tests will be borne by the Government of the Maldives

Departure from the Maldives:

1. If you have stayed at a tourist guesthouse (as opposed to a resort island) at any point during your stay in Maldives, you need to conduct a PCR test 72 hours prior to your scheduled departure from the Maldives. However, if you do not stay in a tourist guesthouse, you are only required to test on departure if it is stated in the immigration requirements of the destination country or your airline.

2. All departing passengers via airports and seaports are required to complete a Traveller Health Declaration form within 48 hours prior to departure. This form can be submitted electronically via https://imuga.immigration.gov.mv/ethd
