Voted World’s 5th most romantic resort
Our land-based holidays in the Maldives are based at partner resorts selected through analysis of marine surveys for the health and diversity of their nearby coral reefs. They offer excellent shore and day boat diving and snorkeling, plus other activities for non-divers in the party. Locations range from the north to the deep south of the Maldives archipelago, including 4-star intimate budget-friendly resorts to 5 star luxury water bungalows with your own private butler. Whether you are a keen to dive, snorkel, swim with manta rays, surf, seeking romantic getaway, or a convenient stopover to link with a liveaboard cruise or one of our safaris to Sri Lanka, we can help you choose the best resort to suit your needs.
Facilities at the resorts include at least a pool, bar and watersports centre, though most resorts also offer a spa, fitness centre and yoga facilities. Some resorts are home to a resident marine biologist who can offer you the chance to participate in local manta and turtle research or coral regeneration programmes. Manta cleaning stations are a feature for most of our selection, so if this is something you are keen to experience, please check with us which time of year is best to experience this at each location.
Each resort is home to an experienced dive & snorkel centre that offers daily boat dives to a range of local sites. New divers can take advantage of a full selection of dive courses and increase their confidence in house reefs and shallow lagoons with gentle currents and good marine life, while more experienced divers can experience the thrill of channel (kandu) diving and deeper pinnacle or (thila) diving with pelagic marine life. Choosing one of our resorts outside of the popular central atolls allows you to explore a quieter area away from the crowds and to visit dive sites not often visited by liveaboards. Some of the most famous manta cleaning stations and known hotspots are within day boat range from the resorts we represent on Ari and Baa Atolls.
Non-divers can enjoy snorkeling either from the shore on the house reef, or by boat heading out to shallow reefs beyond swimming range. Some of our resort selection offers guided snorkeling with a resident marine biologist and dusk or night snorkeling excursions to experience a different side of life on the reef. Other watersports might include surfing, windsurfing, stand up paddle boarding (SUP), kayaking and catamaran sailing. Day trips can include visits to uninhabited sandbanks where you can enjoy being totally alone (except for a cooler of drinks and your loved one) in the middle of the Indian Ocean; and visits to villages to meet the locals and learn about their way of life.
With warm weather and water temperatures all year round, the Maldives is an ideal place to escape the winter (or summer) blues and relax in the stunning setting of white sandy beaches and turquoise lagoons. Whether you are looking for a week long holiday or a few days either side of your liveaboard, contact us today to plan your perfect trip.
Honeymoons: please be sure to let us know if you are planning to visit the Maldives for your honeymoon as we can offer special packages on certain islands for newly-weds travelling within 6 months of their wedding date.
