Madagascar COVID & Visa Entry Requirements

COVID Entry Requirements

There is currently no requirement to be vaccinated or tested for COVID to enter Madagascar. As a precaution, we do recommend that you carry copies of your Vaccination certificates, just in case rules change or locally it is necessary to show these.

We recommend that you have a face mask available at all times in case you are required, or choose, to wear one.

Anti-malaria prophylaxis and an injection of gammaglobulin against hepatitis are recommended, as are preventions against cholera and yellow fever.

Visa for entry and stay in Madagascar

The visa for a single entry and stay in Madagascar can be arranged upon arrival in Antananarivo and Nosy Be. Visa fees are currently:

VISA 30 Days: 35 Euros / 37 USD / 115.000 MGA
VISA 60 Days : 40 Euros / 45 USD / 135.000 MGA

Requirements for Entering Madagascar

  • Passport: valid for six months from your date of entry and with three blank pages
  • Evidence of onward / return travel
  • Proof of sufficient funds
  • World Health Organization (WHO) card with yellow fever vaccination if traveller has been in a yellow fever endemic area within six months of arrival. If you are passing through or making a stopover of less than 12 hours in Addis Ababa, a note from the Epidemiological Health Surveillance Directorate of Madagascar states that there is no risk for the passenger to contract Yellow fever, and that it is therefore not necessary to be vaccinated to enter Madagascar.
