With white rectangular tables and a cosy carpet, it is both inviting and refined. The fireplace adds a warm and snug touch, making this restaurant the ideal place to enjoy a delicious meal while sailing the seas.
Category A - Luxury Owner's Cabins
Cabin 1
Like all of the cabins onboard Sea Cloud, the original owner's wife, Marjorie, personally decorated this luxurious suite herself. These were her favourite rooms during her Sea Cloud voyages. In this suite, you'll find a cosy fireplace and a fancy Carrara marble bathroom. There are gold-plated fixtures, beautiful Louis Philippe chairs, a big white bed with gold touches, pretty ceiling decorations, and a tall dressing mirror. All these fancy details show Marjorie's elegant taste and her desire to enjoy luxury on her private yacht.
Cabin 2
Marjorie's eye for detail shines through in the design of the owner's cabins. This precision is also mirrored in the suite belonging to her first husband, Edward Hutton, who bestowed upon her the extraordinary Sea Cloud as a present. The maple wood panelling imparts a sense of cosiness and strength, whilst the airy coffered ceiling adds a touch of openness. A notable feature is Edward Hutton's exquisite Bureau Bookcase secretary adorned with mirrored glass-a true standout.
Category B - Deluxe Original Cabins
Cabin 3
Marjorie's enduring hospitality defines the Sea Cloud experience today. Cabin number 3, designed in the original colonial style, stands as a testament to this legacy of comfort. Renowned figures from nobility, business and entertainment have all rested in this and other expansive original cabins.
Cabin 4
As Sea Cloud was being built in Kiel, Marjorie gathered precious antiques from around the world. Cabin 4 beautifully blends these treasures into the yacht's interior, adding to its charm.
Cabin 5
Marjorie's foremost aim was to ensure that her family and guests felt entirely at ease throughout their time on the Sea Cloud. As a result, she crafted spaces like this deluxe original cabin to be both roomy and inviting. Expensive antique mahogany dressers, marble accents in the bathroom and around the fireplace, along with one-of-a-kind antique items, contribute to a charming sense of elegance.
Cabin 6
Each Sea Cloud sailing is a voyage through time. In this deluxe cabin, as in all original cabins, you will be transported to the refined global culture of the 1930s. Delicate, handpicked antique mahogany furniture fills the space, while the fabric hues infuse the room with a warm, sunny and luminous ambiance.
Cabin 7
Marjorie took great care in furnishing the Sea Cloud to create a comfortable and secure onboard home for her daughter, Dina Merrill. You can see this in cabin number 7, where Dina spent much of her early years. The furniture is made from beautiful maple with mahogany details, adding a touch of elegance. The unique design, including a slanting fireplace, gives the cabin a spacious feel.
Cabin 8
The essence of the Sea Cloud resides in the main deck's original cabins. Cabin number 8 exemplifies the distinct character that was envisioned for the ship as an exclusive private yacht from its inception. This is further showcased by features like the interior staircase, seamlessly linking the main and promenade decks, offering guests convenient access to the restaurant and lounge.
Category C - Deluxe original cabins
Cabins 9 & 10
Found within the original main deck area, cabins 9 and 10 were initially singles for the previous ship owners' staff and guests. They were later transformed into spacious Deluxe outside cabins during Sea Cloud 's comprehensive restoration. The design pays homage to historical aesthetics with modern touches, featuring warm textiles and wood tones. Positioned at the area's end, these cabins are accessed via a dedicated staircase to the promenade deck.
Outside Cabins - Category 1
Similar to every cabin on the captain's and lido decks, these two double-bed cabins were constructed in the late 1970s and provide exceptional comfort. Notably, their defining characteristic is the panoramic windows that grace the corners, contributing to an overall sense of brightness and warmth.
Twin Bed Cabins - Category 2
These six cabins on the Captain's and Lido decks were added to Sea Cloud later but are in keeping with the style of the original area. Their modern interior design is inspired by Marjorie Merriweather's 1930s design. They offer a comfortable space with fantastic views of the vast sea.
Category 3 Staterooms
These staterooms are designed to maximise the element of sailing, due to their location between the stations for hoisting and lowering the sails. As well as this, there is an additional element of convenience due to its location on the promenade deck - it is only steps away from the restaurant and lounge.
Category 4 Staterooms
Both staterooms offer comfort and luxury as well as proximity to the Blue Lagoon - an area to relax under the daytime sun or dreamy night views of starry skies twinkling off the ocean.
Category 5 Staterooms
These staterooms are aimed at sailing enthusiasts due to their authentic style. Additionally, they offer short access to the promenade deck, meaning proximity to the sea.
