Canyons, Rapids & Glaciers
River Rafting on Hvítá River

The Hvítá River (pronounced Kveetau) is a beautiful and fun river, located just over an hour from Reykjavík.  The river has a perfectly balanced mix of serene canyons and adrenaline pumping waves and rapids. Rafting down this river is a fantastic way to enjoy Icelandic nature.

You will cruise down this great glacial river which runs all the way from the Langjökull glacier, Iceland's second biggest glacier.  During your rafting adventure you will pass through the magnificent Brúarhlöð canyon, which has grand rock formations and portholes, where you can see how the water has sculpted the breccia walls.

Hvítá river also feeds the grand waterfall, Gullfoss, that is one of them most visited attractions in Iceland. After the raft, you can relax in the sauna at Drumbó, enjoy a grilled lamb meal in our restaurant or a drink at the bar.

No one should leave Iceland without experiencing the power that its rivers contain, not to mention witnessing the scenic canyons of Hvítá River and relaxing with a beer or cold beverage in our sauna after a day of adventure.
