Introduction

Originally named Wenman Island, Wolf derived its name from the German geologist Theodor Wolf.   Wolf is situated some 100 km northwest of the main Galapagos Island chain.  Together with its neighbour Darwin, Wolf is famed for being not only one of the best diving destinations in the archipelago, but arguably of the world. Divers will have the chance to dive amongst some of the largest marine life of the Galapagos.  Dive sites including Shark Bay, The Pinnacle, Landslide and the Elephant with likely encounters to Galapagos, Hammerhead and (seasonally) Whale Sharks.  Wolf's waters also attract large schools of jacks, eagle rays and a whole host of other interesting pelagic fish, consequently, the photography opportunities here are excellent.

Due to its remote location, the island has no permanent residents.  The Galapagos National Park does not permit anybody to land on the island, so it remains purely as a destination for scuba divers.
