Journey I is a luxurious power catamaran, formerly called the Anahi. Built in 2006 in Guayaquil, she offers comfortable accommodation and provides an excellent base from which to explore the Galapagos Islands. The shallow draft design of this vessel facilitates closer shore access, as well as providing a smoother and more fuel efficient ride.
She has 6 twin cabins located on the main deck and a further 2 suite cabins located on the upper deck, all of which are air conditioned and offer ensuite facilities, locker and wardrobe. This splendid yacht boasts ample deck space and social areas, including a sun deck, library, TV and DVD room, lounge and onboard Jacuzzi. Passengers will be treated to fine dining in Journey I's dining area, where a wide range of international and local cuisine is served, using the freshest ingredients and prepared to the highest standard. All dietary requirements can be catered for and there is also a wide selection of wines, spirits, cocktails and soft drinks to compliment these meals. Journey I carries onbaord state of the art navigation and communication equipment. She also carries snorkelling equipment and wetsuits, enabling passengers to take full advantage of the Galapagos, both above and below the water.
The onshore excursions provided in Journey I's itineraries include a combination of interesting activitities such as nature hikes, snorkelling, kayaking and chill out time of the beach. Passengers will have the opportunity to explore a range of diverse island landscapes, many of which are home to a plethora of bird, reptile and marine species. There will also be chances to visit research centres and tortoise breeding projects, which both enjoyable and educational onshore trips. These excursions are led by experienced guides, all of whom posess of wealth of knowledge about the Galapagos Island's flora, fauna and history and conservation. These guides are always eager to share their knowledge and will provide on site briefings during onshore excursions as well as optional evening discussions.
