Cachalote, which literally means 'sperm whale' in Spanish, is a steel-hulled motor sailor yacht designed and built in California in 1971. She underwent a complete refurbishment in 2002, allowing her to provide more space and all the amenities of a modern day cruising vessel. The onboard crew offer a first class service and endeavour to help guests experience an authentic sailing experience.

Cachalote has a particularly good itinerary, incorporating all of the wilderness west of Isabela and touching on the relatively young and active volcanic island of Fernandina. She has 8 double cabins and can accommodate up to 16 passengers. Each cabin has its own en suite facilities, two porthole windows and is fully air conditioned. Beds are arranged as upper and lower bunks.

The onboard chef serves up delicious international cuisine in the Victorian-style dining gallery. There is also an onboard library, bar and salon area, perfect for unwinding after a long adventuresome day.

With plentiful deck space and ample cushioned seating areas, guests are able to relax in the shady nooks or soak up some rays on the sun decks.

Cachalote has sea kayaks onboard enabling periods of exploration at sea level throughout your stay onboard. Cachalote is the perfect choice for anyone wishing to get up close and personal with nature and the wildlife adventure of a lifetime.
