White Water Rafting in Iceland

Rafting is an enjoyable and adventurous way in which explore Iceland's abundant glacier melt rivers and is a great way to get that adrenaline pumping and to experience the country's uniquely energetic volcanic landscapes.  The rafting trips we offer consist of a variety of different rivers of all shapes and sizes, consequently you can choose a rafting trip to suit your abilities.

In the South of Iceland, we offer a fairly easy rafting half day trip on the Hvítá River, which is located just an hour outside Reykjavik, right next to Geysir.  Hvítá River combines the ideal mix of serene canyons with pumping waves and rapids, making it an excellent choice for the whole family.  This half day trip can also be enjoyed as part of a combined adventure day trip to include such activities as snorkelling, riding, snowmobiling, whale watching and hiking.

Another rafting trip ideal for families is our half day trip on the West Glacial River, combining the towering canyon and beautiful scenery with an insight into the local river history and folklore.

For those who seek more demanding rafting experience, we also offer a half day trip on the famous East Glacier River (Beast of the East) in Northern Iceland, a Class 4+ white water river which powers through the narrow gorge of Austurdalur valley.  This is a thrilling day trip that will no doubt provide an unforgettable rafting experience, rounded off with a well deserved and relaxing swim afterwards.

If one day of rafting on the Beast of the East is not enough for you, you can join our 3 day trip, where you will charge along the rapids and through valleys and canyons by day and by night in cosy mountain huts.  This trip is fun filled and action packed, providing incredible landscapes of the highlands and otherwise inaccessible and pristine wilderness.
